Before I start my review, let me say how excited I was when Kacey picked me for the street team and let me read the book early. Mermaids are my favorite mythical creature ever and anything with them in it draws me in immediately. It wasn't any different with Sing Our Bones Eternal. Here is what I found:
The story itself is magical and enchanting and has everything you could possibly want in a dark fairytale. The characters are well-balanced and you got your "good" and "bad" guys and everything in between. I love how Kacey represents the mermaids and their way of living. It almost made me feel like I was a part of their magical world. And oh, how I wish I could be!
The book is also filled with romance and steamy sex scenes, which I personally don't care for. That is not to say that Kacey didn't execute them perfectly, but I'm just not big on those elements. In the end, it didn't change how I felt about the story, it's just a personal preference.
The world-building in this book is fantastic and the style itself is just as amazing. Having the story told from multiple POVs could have ended up confusing, but it all worked out well in the end.
Again, thank you Kacey for sharing your mermaid world with me!
